As I travel to various locations, I am lucky enough to carry a comprehensive field recording kit. This includes numerous handheld recorders, a twelve track digital mixer and a selection of quality directional microphones. This high-quality equipment, combined with my knowledge of outdoor acoustics, microphone techniques and an ability to navigate natural terrains, means that I am ensured to capture the essence of nature in the best and clearest way possible. 

 

When I arrive on location, I set up camp, and then search for the perfect places to capture the environment. Once set up is complete and the recorder running, I am free to enjoy the landscape myself.

 

Once the session is done, I’m usually left with 20 hours of audio. I will use an extensive list of high end plugins to iron out any issues with the sound that may have occurred, creating a clear mix to reflect the area recorded. Afterwards, these recordings are packaged with eye catching art and released to digital stores, allowing me to bring people closer to nature from around the world, without having to leave the comfort of their own homes.
